VENUS AND MARS CONJUNCT, OPPOSE SUPER-GALACTIC CENTER: ATTRACTION, DESIRE AND THE SACRED SOURCE

Blessings to all. Venus and Mars conjuncted each other at 1 Aries ’41 earlier today (circa 5:12 am, GMT – Feb 22nd 2015). Taken together, Venus and Mars represent aspects of Divine Femininity and Divine Masculinity, present in all beings. In Aries, both these expressions are going to focus upon the Will of the Self, and its right to Self-Assertion.

Venus in Aries can easily be associated with the Archetype of the Goddesses of Fire (Goddess Brigit, aspects of Goddess Durga, Goddess Gaia at her Core, and so on). This particular energy resonates with the Archetype of the Rising, Fiery, Assertive Feminine we now see at a global level. There is also the chance for further attachment to one’s value systems and judgments – irrespective of whether these views are right/wrong/fair/unjust, etc.

Mars in Aries can manifest as the more conventional understanding of the ‘alpha male’ and all that entails. The archetype of assertive masculine energy that pursues that which it desires on the basis of its own motivation and will – best expressed by the God of War (Mars) himself. It can be a fairly impetuous expression of energy, acting first and then thinking later.

Both Venus and Mars can harmonize together, blending that which we are drawn towards with the actions we take to acquire, manifest or engage with it. In Aries, our only caution is to ensure that our impassioned actions do not violate the will of another.

This conjunction also supports our quest of self-knowledge and understanding – we need only look to ourselves to realize what our deepest desires are and to what extent (where appropriate) we are willing to pursue them.

Venus and Mars make multiple aspects to other celestial bodies, but of all of these I feel that their opposition to the Super-Galactic Center takes center-stage.

The Super-Galactic Center (SGC) at 1 Libra is a Supermassive Black Hole at the center of the M-87 galaxy, thought to be as large as 6.2 billion Suns!

In astrology, the SGC represents a profound connection with Source. Some experience this as a yearning, hunger or pull that constantly guides you back towards the seat of your Soul and its deepest longings. The nature of this connection is one that eludes definition or rationalization. But whenever this connection is activated, you can be sure that whatever energies/dynamics, etc. are present have a far greater cosmic and energetic significance that we – as individuals – can imagine.

With Venus and Mars opposed the SGC at 1 Libra, what we find is a powerful reminder for Balance, Detachment and Acceptance, particularly in the realm of Partnerships, our co-existence within social groups and our very own Shadow (Suppressed or Hidden) Selves.

As we powerfully realize our deepest desires and work towards manifesting them, let us not forget that we are part of a wider collective. Let us be willing to take a moment to reflect upon our impulses and instincts and to consider how they impact others.

Questions to ask ourselves:

~ Will our actions honor, or violate another’s boundaries? Are we acting too rashly, without tuning into the wisdom of the deeper Self?
~ Are our actions guided by the Ego-Mind’s desire to distinguish itself, or does it arise from a far deeper connection with our Core?
~ How deeply do we desire, even crave partnership with another – how much of that is the desire to deeply connect with ourselves, in the first place?

Let us not take this opposition lightly, for the actions undertaken here make larger energetic waves than usual 😉

Here’s an excellent article on the nature of the SGC itself for those interested to learn more about it: http://www.philipsedgwick.com/Galactic/ZS.htm

That being said, enjoy the powerful wave of Aries energy sweeping over us all now and the lessons, choices and paths that open in response to it. A powerful day to connect deeply with your conception of Divinity, what you consider profoundly sacred.

Blessings to All,
